Quality is Essential to Food Delivery Business

All businesses say that quality is important to them, but when a food delivery business says it is high-quality, it really must live up to the claim.

Hello Fresh, a gourmet grocery service, is one such business. It offers customers the chance to learn about cooking by creating meals from ingredients and recipes delivered to their door.
Each week it delivers measured ingredients and recipe cards for a selection of dishes to its customers.
The meal plans are concocted by a team that aims to combine “food discovery with convenience” and to introduce a new approach to meal planning.

As a start-up at the high end of the market, every aspect of the business must exude quality. Not just quality of ingredients, but of packaging, marketing materials and the drivers’ punctuality and presentation.

To achieve this, Hello Fresh has spent time putting together a reliable, premium supply chain.
“We stand or fall based on the quality of our ingredients,” says Min Kim, operations director of Hello Fresh. “Solid branding, marketing and logistics are vital too, but ultimately everything we do boils down to a satisfied customer cooking and eating a great meal.

“Because of this, we put emphasis on finding suppliers who share our passion and enthusiasm for the highest-quality produce. By working hard to perfect our supply chain, it means we save time, as our suppliers are already carrying out the most rigorous quality control before we receive their produce.”

Kim, above, adds: “Quality is also about reacting quickly to customer feedback and making sure everything we do is based on what they actually want, rather than what we think they want.”
Customers are what keeps a business going, she concludes.

“A friendly, personal approach is key. We want to teach people how to cook great food without patronising them. Hello Fresh wanted to create a service that feels like a friend visiting your home with ingredients to help you prepare a delicious meal.”
It’s a quality Hello Fresh seem to have achieved.
